Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 6, 2026
The Vineyards San Diego ("we," "us") operates https://thevineyardsandiego.com. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information we collect
- Information you provide. When you use our newsletter, contact, or 3D-tour forms, we collect the details you submit — typically your name, email address, and any message or winery/venue name.
- Usage and device data (analytics). With your consent, Google Analytics 4 collects information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, device and browser type, and a truncated (anonymized) IP address.
- Automatically collected. Like most sites, our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, timestamp, user agent) for security and reliability.
Cookies and consent
We use Google Consent Mode. Analytics cookies are set to denied by default and are only enabled if you click "Accept" on our consent banner. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out and do not enable analytics cookies. You can change your choice any time using in the footer. Interactive maps and 3D-tour embeds may also set cookies from their providers when loaded.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and send the newsletter you requested.
- To understand and improve how the site is used (analytics).
- To operate, secure, and maintain the site.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Third parties we share with
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the site, and with analytics/affiliate technologies as described:
- Google Analytics & Google Maps (analytics and mapping)
- MailerLite (newsletter delivery) and an email provider for form messages
- Cloudflare Turnstile (spam/bot protection on forms)
- Affiliate networks. Some outbound links are affiliate links; clicking them may share standard click data with the partner. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some analytics and affiliate activity may be considered "sharing" or "sale" under certain state laws; you can opt out using the consent banner or GPC as described above.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Access or obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information / targeted advertising;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thevineyardsandiego.com or use our contact form. We will verify your request as required by law before responding.
Data retention
We keep newsletter and contact information for as long as needed to provide the service or until you ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration.
Children
This site is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above when we do.
